The Robettes work to inspire girls of all ages to incorporate STEM into their daily lives and to revolutionize the perception of women in STEM.
The Robettes started in 2006, becoming Minnesota’s first all-girls robotics team. The Robettes have won over 30 awards recognizing our fantastic robots, outreach, students, and mentors! We have continued to be role models for girls in STEM by building robots and empowering other girls to do the same. We have started events such as GRIP, a technical training workshop for girls in FIRST, and SWEet Eats, a networking lunch for girls in FIRST to connect with U of M students from the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). We continue to support girls not only through these events, but also through robot demonstrations, shop tours, and even an appearance on local public television!
